7R Carapace Cargo Cage
Laser-cut, press-formed steel cage with a recessed bolt channel for safer strapping and extra stiffness
The Carapace Cargo Cage mounts to standard 2-or-3-pack bosses on fork legs (and similar frame mounts), and it can also be installed on rear racks' stays that have cargo-cage bosses.
Strap on a small dry bag (your 7R dry bag or any other one) to carry soft gear like a tent, clothing, or a compact sleep kit—this style of cage is widely used to move bulky items outside the main luggage. Carapace Cargo Cage also makes sense under the 7R Monster Rack platform as an extra external carry position for some of your gear.
Big water bottles are possible (many cargo cages are used for oversized bottles), but we don’t recommend it, because vibration and impacts can crack a bottle, so a dry bag is the safer choice.
You can mix different items in a dry bag, but pad anything rigid. On rough roads, hard items (like a stove or cookpot) can bounce inside the bag and create pressure points. Over time, that movement can scuff the fabric or even wear a hole—especially where the bag sits against the cage. Wrapping your kitchen kit in a tent, jacket, or other soft gear adds a buffer, reduces rattling, and protects the bag.

Mounting & Compatibility
Mounts to standard three-pack (two works as well ) cargo-cage mounts on fork legs and similar mounts on frames or rear rack stays.
Adjustable slots make it easy to position a dry bag higher or lower for clearance and balance. Works great under the 7R Monster Rack platform as an extra external carry position
Before riding, make sure the cage, bag, and loose strap ends can’t contact the tire/wheel. Re-check the strap tension after the first kilometres and periodically on rough roads
